Guitars For Sale
Refined Quality and Exquisite Sound

This is a beautiful Taylor 712 with the original Taylor hardshell case. This guitar has an Engleman Spruce top and Indian Rosewood back and sides that create a warm tone with unbelievable sustain, clarity, and projection.

Another musician showing the potential of a Taylor 712 - sound clip.

The Taylor 712 has gorgeous lines, and with the Grand Concert body, it is very comfortable to play.  This guitar looks and plays great with the typical low action and easy playability that Taylor guitars are known for.

The better sounding full concert body is getting harder to find. The "cutaway" CE style is seen more often but does not sound as good due to reduced volume and compromised shape.

This guitar has been professionally setup and adjusted yearly for the best action and sound clarity for fingerstyle techniques and light strumming.

The high level of workmanship that Taylor puts into their higher end guitars is easily seen in this detailed picture. The neck has a satin finish with deep gloss on the body.

This guitar breathes quality from headstock to bridge.

Over the past 4 years it has become more and more tonally responsive to fingerstyle playing such as classical, "slack key", "chord melody" or instrumental styles. It has matured and no longer has that stiff sound and feeling as most guitars have when new.

This is the perfect guitar for amplified stage and studio playing. It sings clear above a group mix, too. An LR Baggs M-1 soundhole pickup works perfectly with no feedback. Tonal quality is excellent.

For many guitar players, Indian rosewood is what it’s all about. Taylor offers this classic tonewood in three premium classes, starting with the 700 Series®. Elegant rosewood binding, mother-of-pearl dot inlays, and abalone rosette, make this Taylor series a timeless statement of tone and taste. Prices of new guitars with Indian Rosewood have risen dramatically.

 DETAILS:

In the interest of "full disclosure" - here are some details about this guitar. Pictures are of the guitar that is for sale.

There's a tiny shallow dent or nick on the "finish" (not the wood) on the edge of the lower bout of the guitar. Here's a closeup macro shot of it.

I had a strap pin installed next to the output plug so that a strap lock could be used. This guaranteed that the guitar would never be dropped because the strap slipped off the strap jack end pin. I wish guitar pickup systems would make some sort of gizmo to prevent this. I've never dropped any guitar because I'm cautious. Some may think this is not "normal". I think it's where practicality meets looks. There is a small lift in the finish clear laquer next to the end pin and some smudging that happened when pickup systems were swapped in and out. Nothing structural but a cosmetic imperfection that must be pointed out to any buyer.

the case is the original taylor (heavy) hard case. The front latch hinge pin fell out years ago and I put in a cotter pin. Worked well ever since. Was not worth shipping the case back to Taylor for warranty repair.  The Taylor hardcase has some scuffs here and there but no tears, no dents, no scratches, no gouges, no cracks, no rust. The interior has the soft fluffy stuff, also no tears, no damage of any kind. This guitar and case has spent most of it's short life in the studio.

AGAIN: This guitar has spent most of it's life in the studio. There are no cracks on the guitar. No gouges, no scratches, no belt buckle or denim rivet marks or discolorations on the deck, sides, or back. There are no wear marks on the neck or fingerboard. The fret wires are not heavily worn. The neck is true and straight. The deck has not lifted overtly and is true. The saddle height is fine with a lifetime of adjustment left in it. ( I've seen "new" guitars with less than 1/8" on the saddle and near zero string angle - won't say what brand but it's a popular one). No rust on the tuner pegs or other metals - all perfect and like new. Continuing - no splits or cracks or evidence of seperation anywhere. No warpage anywhere including the neck. This guitar is absolutely mint.

Other than as stated, anything that looks like defects in the pictures are reflections from the lights. Email if you have any questions and I'll take more pictures.

The regular (non-CE) Taylor 712 retails for about $2500. Online sources such as Musician's Friend, etc, sell the 712ce for $2699 plus shipping (with no chance to inspect before buying).
